The performance of seals and technical parts is always associated with the range of materials available. With SCHLÖSSER, you have found the perfect partner: Fielding a great variety of different materials, we are ideally equipped to work across a huge range of fields of application – from automotive to electrical, sanitation and many other sectors. This means that we are able to find a suitable solution for you and your specific application.
Plastics and optical films have excellent mechanical and optical properties, reflected in the wide range of applications they can serve. Among other things, they can be used in areas that require optimum light diffusion with maximum transmission.
Application: Fittings, pumps, white goods, displays, luminaires, backlighting
Industries: Mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automotive, building services, medical, railway engineering
Adhesive films or double-sided adhesive tapes are available with adhesives based on modified acrylates, pure acrylates, rubber and as silicones. The adhesive compounds are available bonded on a substrate or without a substrate and are easy to handle in assembly as cut-to-size parts. In contrast to liquid products, double-sided adhesive tapes can be installed easily by defined levels of compression and, depending on the design, can be used as an assembly aid or even for permanent bonding. Adhesive films are climate-stable and adaptable. They can also be used as high performance adhesive tape for low energy surfaces such as silicone materials that are difficult to bond.
Application: Luminaires, display units, batteries, inverters, electronic components
Sectors: Industrial, automotive, railway engineering, aviation, medical, electronics, building technology.
Elastomers consist of chemically cross-linked polymer chains with elastic material properties, in contrast to thermoplastic or thermoset plastics which do not. These material properties are ideal for sealing applications because the soft materials can compensate for macroscopic and microscopic surface unevenness of two sealing surfaces, depending on the design and requirements. At the same time, through the targeted use of base materials, they can achieve a very wide range of media resistances for a variety of applications.
Application: Sealing, vibration decoupling, electrical insulation, buffer, gap filler
Industries: Mechanical engineering, aviation, railway engineering, medical, electronics, automotive.
Due to their specific properties, foamed elastomers are able to serve a broad range of applications.
The materials differ fundamentally in terms of their material structure (closed-cell, open-cell or mixed-cell). They are also made using different manufacturing processes. Nonetheless, they are all very well suited for sealing, damping and insulating and many other applications. Foamed elastomers are available as sheets, on a roll, as round profiles and also as bespoke blanks, strips or punched parts. As a cost option, these can also be supplied with self-adhesive properties. Depending on the cell structure, typical advantages can include the prevention of any ingress of liquids or protection against external factors.
Application: Sealing, vibration impact damper, buffer, gap-filler
Sectors: Automotive, medical, electronics, aviation, railway engineering
Elastomer-coated steel plates comprise spring-elastic stainless steel with a material thickness of a few tenths of a millimetre, coated on both sides with an elastomer measuring approx. 10 to 40 microns in thickness. These materials are suitable for shaping a three-dimensional sealing contour (‘bead’) that is capable of achieving significantly higher surface compression and therefore lower leakage rates than a classic gasket. This elastomer layer can be adapted for different levels of media resistance and therefore provides the required micro-sealing of sealing surfaces. This combination can therefore achieve seals that can contend with the highest of pressures and temperatures, or dynamically stressed components.
Application: Driveline, exhaust system, pumps, electric motors, electronics
Sector: Mechanical engineering, automotive

Heat conductive materials are manufactured from various filled polymer materials such as silicone, polyurethane or acrylate. These are used primarily to conduct and distribute heat between components (also refer to TIM blanks) and these can be supplied in various hardnesses with a range of different adhesive bonding properties, thicknesses and surfaces.
Application: Power electronics, inverters, batteries, LED luminaires, display units, sensors
Sectors: Automotive, aerospace, railway engineering, automation, industrial electronics
Membrane cloths are elastomers with fabric inlays. The different types of fabric can be obtained with all commonly used elastomers as a coating. Membrane materials possess outstanding durability under pressure load and reset.
Application: Pumps, carburetors, pressure balancing elements, controllers
Sectors: Plant construction, industrial applications, mechanical engineering
Electrical insulating films are made from polyester, polyamide, PTFE, aramide, polyethylenterephtalate (PET), polycarbonate, polypropylene, resin with fabric or paper substrates. These differ in terms of fire-retardant properties, surfaces as well as electrical and mechanical properties. These films are also available for all categories of protection.
Application: Luminaires, power supply units, batteries, inverters, displays, switches
Sectors: Lighting, automotive, industrial, building technology
Fleece, fabric and felt made of polyester.
Application: Vehicle seats (e.g. lumbar support, lumbar mounting)
